Life and times of the Jakob Hallvardson Lostad/Marta Johnannesdtr Njastad family.
JAKOB HALLVARDSON LOSTAD was born at Laastad, Osteroy, and
became a farmer there, presumably taking over from his father.
MARTA JOHANNESDTR NJASTAD was born at Njastad near to Laastad.
MARTA, MAGDELI, INGEBJORG, ANNA and INGEBJORG all married and
went to live at Anntun, Revheim, Vevle, Presttun and Solbjorg
respectively.
JOHANNES took over a farm at Njastad, possibly the one his
brother Anders had previously rented. Like his brother he became a
non-commissioned officer in the Army. He married twice, having 2
children (one died young) by his first wife Kari Olavsdtr Kleppe and 9
by his second Sigrid Johnsdtr Presttun. 4 of his children moved to
Bergen; the youngest 2 emigrated to the USA.
